Lost in a World

I feel lost in a world that no longer cares,

wondering if anything matters, only plow shares,

wondering what brought us to this precipice now,

wondering, wondering the more, should I have a cow?

My anger has subsided as I've seen way too much,

wondering how to overcome apathy born as such,

wondering who will break this evil spell come over us,

wondering, wondering the more, where is the back of the bus?

My heart sinks in sadness, I've surely lost my way,

wondering where all the flowers have gone in the fray,

wondering why eagles still soar in the clouds high above,

wondering, wondering the more, where has gone all the love?

My head is pounding, my heart is aching, grieving for my loss,

wondering how much pain I must suffer before shooting this ol' hoss,

wondering if time has passed me by, spaced out in the devil's hand,

wondering, wondering the more, how do I beat this dark, evil band?

Is it all in my head, and does it really matter a whit,

no more wondering, no more waiting as I write while I sit,

no more wondering of who, what, when and, maybe, somewhere,

no more wondering, wondering the more, now who but I must care?

It's just you and me, babe, no one else matters! (Wink!)
