Pain (A Quatrain)

Pain

Do you want to understand? seek the pain!

The pain and suffering we encounter

makes us do strange things in vain,

our reactionary force damaged, we flounder.

Time does not heal all as some think.

What we experience in life takes hold,

though how consequential may bring the shrink,

less so? still an impact that makes us cold.

Blame is not the game I assure you,

understanding more is what's required,

as no one understands enough to sue

and life is very hard as pain is acquired.

Understanding may take more time,

as once pain has taken hold so bold,

it's difficult to see how far it may climb,

complexity adding confusion untold.

Pain makes us stronger it is written,

but too much pain breaks the soul in two,

yet understanding allows one to be forgiven,

self love and self esteem, the better view.
