How can I feel numb when numb is without feeling?,

This thought in my head has now left me reeling,

The sun blazes through my room window,

But I’m still down ,low and cold minus zero,

Speach I am losing as I’ve not spoken to anyone,

The last time was last month to my deaf mom,

What is the point? Is the thought in my head,

But what would be the point if I were dead,

The moods of my brains thoughts change so fast,

Might I be something special? I might be the last!,

Live my life I do now to find the answers,

But the thing eating me the most is this deadly cancer.

gwizardstar your poem

I think being numb is real. Your last line really caught me by surprise. Is this deadly cancer a metaphore for you? Or a reality? Or a realty for your mother? It is confusing and concerns me. Thanks, Mark

Hi

Thanks for your comment much appretiated. I am not ill with cancer I hope you don't think I'm sickly minded or anything,But my Mother has just recovered from breast cancer and I wanted to write the poem purely 'cause of that. Thanks again-Paul.

I am at a split

I feel you are at a perceptive reconfiguring of near grief ,some what of a nervous laugh at a grim situation and as such I applaud you ,you are subliminal ink. G-Wiz a' 'the last Time was to my Deaf mom 'oh sap ola' like a panhandler once said "yea then my parents died in the fire....,the one burning at the Salvation army ,....Where I was raised...poor!" Laugh it off Poet. I'll stay tuned. in ink, Dabbler
