actually

I dig this. I was taken back at first by the rhyme, but then I read the first two lines as a "flow" with an abrupt stop at "hard." This is short and simple, and therein lies its power, a poem about ones house should be short, simple, and above all, humble, which this is. The only knock I have is a need for punctuation. Mark
