A Martyrs Prayer
As I stand on your Earth below
I beseech thee in prayer to make it so
That if I die in a foreign land, or
Be it by my brothers hand.
Take me back, so I may lay
With the hope to rise another day.
When Judgement comes, and
My body Thou raise
Free me, Lord. So I may gaze
So, in death, if not life
I may see
Ireland, Dear Ireland
Forever free.
