Geremia's Works on Neopoet Part 1

ROSES AND THORNS edit

Submitted by Geremia on Fri, 2016-12-09 19:47

ROSES AND THORNS

You are a thorn among roses,
sharp and cutting, hidden from the light
deep in the shadows of raging green.
evil is unknown until discovered cowering
behind smiles of honey, and Death soon
reveals itself in the eyes of the dying

UNSPEAKABLE

UNSPEAKABLE

What horrors the human mind creates
when demons whisper fear
and the soul can no longer speak

MIDNIGHT SUMMERS

Submitted by Geremia on Fri, 2016-11-25 21:47

MIDNIGHT SUMMERS

midnight summers, sultry dreams
feverish thrashing among silken sheets,
living the moment ravished by the ecstasy
of another heart beating into your own.
sad morning epiphany – all will end in
a sudden flash of Time.

words of holy consolation.
darkness looms before you
threatening annihilation
and you despair...

LIKE A FEATHER

Submitted by Geremia on Wed, 2016-11-30 16:18

LIKE A FEATHER

a feather dances lightly
to the music of the wind
and our mind is lifted ,
by its journey’s end
death’s euphoria floods
our soul with promises
of home and we acquiesce..

PUSHING INTO DECLINE

Submitted by Geremia on Fri, 2016-12-02 17:37

Pushing Into Decline
please, cover my legs
they are stone cold
the urinal needs to be emptied’
I’ve got to go.

I need fresh sheets on the recliner
where I sleep and spend the day. .. ..
this is a new existence for me,
a half life at the mercy of those
who are loving and kind.

but sometimes I think I’m losing my mind.
I was in full bloom now falling to the ground..

SUSTENANCE

Submitted by Geremia on Tue, 2016-12-06 16:16

SUSTENANCE

what pure and generous hearts
I have met on the way.
what kindness and compassion
have struck my soul
to the near ecstasy of being.
what tears I have shed for already
missing you.
I wrap myself in the warmth of
your thoughts and the music of your
words that soothe and sustain..

ROSES AND THORNS

You are a thorn among roses,
sharp and cutting, hidden from the light
deep in the shadows of raging green.
evil is unknown until discovered cowering
behind smiles of honey, and Death soon
reveals itself in the eyes of the dying..

PARTING

Submitted by Geremia on Wed, 2016-12-21 18:52

PARTING

I will be an angel on your shoulder
whispering in your ear
not to cry. not to fear
and never despair ,
you see : how could i
let you know
the pain of loneliness…
I will still be here

CRYSTAL FEVER

Submitted by Geremia on Wed, 2016-12-28 15:27

CRYSTAL FEVER

I don't know where
these words
will take me
I follow the colors
of my mind.
a darkness opens
to sparkling crystal lights.
and what I see is
clear and wondrous.
and there was the Music....

ABOUT FRIENDSHIP

Submitted by Geremia on Sat, 2016-12-31 16:36

A LETTER

It is a terrible thing to linger and know that every indignity you suffer brings you closer to the Unknown. You and Richard have been a Godsend,
Richard has what we call an “old Soul “ filled with compassion and sensitivity.
He has kept me alive and made my life worthwhile for the moments I have left., I can’t hold on much longer.

I suffer to know what this will do to those I leave behind .
I organized Richard’s papers, typed out his medications, and updated phone numbers in a leather-bound agenda.
Richard seems so lost at times. I see the signs, and it breaks my heart. I have done my best to leave my dear friend a legacy and ward off the inevitable.
And I suffer to think that he may no longer be among us as well.
God have mercy on my soul and may Christ watch over
you both,
joe

OZ

I wander in a world surreal
In circles dreamed and true- life scenes.:
failed wishes, longings to be
the child who still lives in me,
old friends and family all who passed this way,
strange faces that never smile, an old subway train,
all seats taken ; no room for me today.
dream to nightmare in a time line where
there is no Time.

AFTER THE GARDEN

We all strive to find a special place
above all others; a unique space
that rises above the commonality
of the human race and belies mortality;
we storm the heavens in conflagration,
like fallen angels, and curse the inequity
of Creation only to live in constant anguish
not to know what we are not meant to know
for all is beyond our understanding.
our ignorance is our peace
and our salvation.
arrogance is our Fall

LOST IN ILLUSION

Submitted by Geremia on Wed, 2017-06-14 15:52

LOST IN ILLUSION

my words flow mellifluous
in the light of nighttime dreams.
and I fly with ease on a poet’s wings
into subliminal reality…
but all dreams end in disillusion.
there is no magic in this world,
miracles are for martyrs and saints
and hope is fantasy—a wish gone astray
Last few words:
Stili alive. must write again/ Showing early SIGNS OF DEMENTIA

For now re posting REDEMPTIO

Submitted by Geremia on Wed, 2017-06-21 18:50

REDEMPTIO

The devil plays his seduction
and with savage fury rips into my soul.
I wait for the Messenger
hovering
in shadows dark and cold;
my body begins to whither.
my heart is sick with fearful imaginations
and flaming arrows destroy
all hopes of redemption.

THE RING

Submitted by Geremia on Mon, 2016-11-21 18:09

THE RING

I would like a ruby ring
blood red
magical of soul
mirror of my heart
cradled in bright gold
a ring I can hold
without a memory
something new only for me
just for a while until the time
it slips from a ravaged hand
and remembers who I am….

PALOR

Submitted by Geremia on Fri, 2016-11-18 16:20

PALOR

there is no going back ;
there is only rushing forward
I look behind and see beyond horizons
worn by Time’s passing tears,
now filled with shadows who
shared a lifetime…..
colorless specters in refraction,

CIRCLES OF FIRE

Submitted by Geremia on Sun, 2016-11-13 17:31

CIRCLES OF FIRE

whirling fires three,
circles In symmetry
twists and turns
words that burn
through and through
lies they brew
piecing heart and soul
laughter born to tears
feed a witches brew,
hearts of stone,.
litanies of ill - will
serpent tongues that kill
and pursue …

FURY redone

Submitted by Geremia on Sat, 2016-11-05 17:21

FURY

a raging fire caught
by a hungering wind
in all of hell's madness
steals the air.
I can’t breathe
I gasp for hope.
two dark clouds roll in
from heaven’s sky.
I smell the rain
i will endure
the pain
of living
again

WORDLESS

Submitted by Geremia on Fri, 2016-10-28 19:36

WORDLESS

Words are but fluid melodies
that vanish with time
no flesh to hold, no heart that comforts
and no soul to wrap around,
shadows that vanish as they are spoken
to leave the mind to remember,
and die in the remembering
don’t let my hand slip away
from yours.
I want to feel your words until
I can feel no longer.

FELLINI DREAMS

Submitted by Geremia on Tue, 2016-10-25 19:00

FELLINI DREAMS

I slumber
into a sleep
deep foreboding, and am pulled
into places
familiar and strange.

– a Fellini world
of dark and darker.
my mind reels
in the surreal
as dream begins
to break
into a fractured reflection
of the self.…

THROUGH A WINDOW

Submitted by Geremia on Sun, 2016-10-23 18:58

THROUGH A WINDOW

acacia and red ixora bleeding
under the mid day sun, couched in velvet green,
a mimosa tree sensually swaying
In an ocean breeze… these I see
in frames horizontal through open
slats of mahogany.
like Tantalus I long to drink the cool waters
before me, but I too am crucified
to a stone not of my own making.

PROMISE

Submitted by Geremia on Sat, 2016-10-15 22:12

PROMISE

If you should go before I do,
wait for me, I will soon be
with you … my soul could not endure
the pain , and I will pray my heart
to cease its pointless beating
I will follow the foot steps
you leave behind until I hear
you call my name ; then we will be
together again,

Words can build a nation

author comment

I am not sure what has happened to Joe, but as he was a long standing member of Neopoet.
I am putting his works as a Blog in Parts just to remind us of another of our long standing members, and the amount of work they produced here on our site.
Yours, Ian T Howard

It seems we have been losing only the best to time. And we keep the duffers like me for ever. If you find a poet you like here Never take for granted he/she will always be around.

Many thanks for your attention to this stream,
Most of us knew Joe it would be nice to know what has happened to him.
Richard his carer was posting some works from him the last I knew.
It will have to remain an open book until we have news, Yours Ian ..
