Just my Opinion!

It seems that some of our younger members place Pacifism on a high pedestal and Patriotism a tad lower on the food chain!  I mean no dis-respect to anyone in saying this, but I believe what I believe and will not be bullied out of it!  If someone wishes to be a non-combatant in Wartime, more power to them, but please, do not look down upon those who take up arms to protect your right not to!  I realize that many younger people believe that Wars are unneccessary, and a waste of humanity, but as lomg as Humanity has been around, there have been wars, and there probably always will be until Human-kind no longer rules this planet!  I mean, really, if poetic souls can't even get along in a Chat room, then how is one to expect the entire Human Race to get along together?  Also, if there are people here who don't believe former Soldiers should speak about their experiences, or have trouble getting along in Society because of things they have seen or done, then those folks should think about others who have gone through some kind of Trauma and are treated with kindness and tolerance because of it!  I have never met a former Soldier who enjoyed seeing or doing what War requires one to see and do, so please, just realize that we are people just like yourselves, who, through no fault of our own, have a bit of trouble dealing with dis-respect and intolerance from those of you who have not walked in our shoes!  Enough said!
