ABOUT FRIENDSHIP

A LETTER
It is a terrible thing to linger and know that every indignity you suffer brings you closer to the Unknown. You and Richard have been a Godsend,
Richard has what we call an “old Soul “ filled with compassion and sensitivity. He has kept me alive and made my life worthwhile for the moments I have left., I can’t hold on much longer.

POETIC PROSE and POETRY

Prose poetry is poetry written in prose instead of using verse but preserving poetic qualities such as heightened imagery, parataxis and emotional effects.

A TRUE MEMORY RE-POSTED, "Mr. Cappolla's Horse."

a short story

Mr. Cappolla’s Horse: Part 1

Mr. Cappolla came down the street every Wednesday late morning in a horse-drawn pickup truck shouting in his own Italian a litany of fresh fruits and vegetables that he picked out on the docks of the lower west side of Manhatten .

RICHARD FOR JOE

There will be enough left of you when you are nearing your end-time,to continue to live out your last days doing what you still are able to do., There is always a way. The day will come when you have to give into the pain and the years. It won't be an easy or pleasant time, but there is nothing you can do. Each morning you awake BREATH the air of Life.. Our purpose on this earth is to share our soul with others and, in some way, leave this place having given the best of your Self.

to all

I think it is that time to go. I have no poetry left in my soul ; and I feel that I am near to some end. I wish it were not so but my body tells me no more.
I don’t want to leave but am too weak to continue. I am hoping this won’t last. I am doubtful a rebound is in sight. Nevertheless, I have never felt so bad and the weakness overwhelms me.

Writing was my only pleasure, and you were the only friends who stood by me. I feel so sad.

Thank you.

Don't kill the messenger

I spend a great deal of time reading works on NEO with an occasional comment—usually short. I write very little poetry. The Muse is gone. I am too preoccupied by recent health issues that are threatening and find it difficult to be an “ active” participant. This is a rare moment for me given the rarity of my contributions to NEOPOET.

THINGS HAPPEN

I am in re-hab center. fell and broke hip. miss being home. THERAPY intense and painful.
