Donations to Neopoet
Forums:
On the odd occasion I have donated a small sum of money to Neopoet.
I find it very hard to find the shop cart as it is to donate.
I think that the cart could be made easier to find,
this morning I have given up.
Would it not be good to have a money box, where we can leave something, that can be seen on the first of each month, instead of trolling through several pages.
I am sure Neopoet would increase its input of funds if the access was easier,
Yours Ian .T

I've said this often
to A&P.
Their dilemma is that they do not want the site to be seen as money-grubbing and avaricious. Yet it still needs to become self-sustaining eventually to survive. A&P have supported this site financially since its inception, nearly 10 years ago. We can't expect them to do it forever. Neither of them expected to make a fortune or even a profit from it, however, yes, I agree.
It does need to be more attractive to Premium Membership and especially more easy to found out how to buy Premium or make a contribution.
cheers,
Jess

I agree,
they should at least give donations/premiums their own
category in the dropdowns ... but it has been suggested.
In the meantime, run your cursor over the "Help" tab,
click on "frequently asked questions" and there is a
category for donations/premiums that even has a
written address for snail mail.

adverts
another blog site...but they dont run ads
practically every other does it for income
although financial sense....it is nonsense
to have the banners everywhere...
the paying poet sites in return publish
works catering to clientele...
fill in the blanks story book
like the childrens books
Insert childs name here...
Insert Poets name here...
I find Neo beyond this level
of commercial pandering...
Thank U!

well said, sir
the options are limited to pay for the fairly small, but real, cost of poetry.

Jess

A comment
We do have a banner on nearly every page for members who don't have a premium membership that reads:
Take out a premium membership to support Neopoet (and hide this ad)
We don't, of course, have this for premium members.
As Jess pointed out, we are cautious about being overly commercial. If there's a specific place, however, that you think it's logical (and not too intrusive) for us to put a link to donation / premium membership, let us know - we're open to the idea.

well! someone gifted me a premium membership once
And...Neopoet for the mental sanity and place to post
has offered me much over the years! struggling along
with bills and fronting a few circuses here and there
limits me to nothing half way through the month!
but...the membership and premium is worth it!
and even for me affordable!
I think I will scrape together some coin and support
this place in the next few months!!
Its the logical thing..
the emotional says blow all my coin on other
crap.....But this is an investment!
see how it goes....
Thank U people!

Hi Andrew,
I don't think it would too intrusive to
have it's own heading under the "help"
tab, a choice for donation/membership,
seems the right place, that way at least
one wouldn't need to hunt for it.
