Mum... You and I

By: Rula

Together we witnessed time ebbs and tides:

we went through ups, we went through downs,

yet luckily we got each other's sides,

you and I, you and I.

Together, unwillingly, we grew old,

with devestating wrinkles, and white hair.

We both raised families, yet we're still bold

You and I, you and I.

Together we laughed, together we cried:

I uplifted your spirits, you got my tears wiped,

we stayed together, side by side,

You and, I you and I.

Together we lived for worse and better,

until Alzheimer's stole you, my bank of love,

although you promised to stay forever

You and I, you and I.

My Gold

By Mr joghe

In whom I spent my old days and nights,

Who rocked me in my cradle;

And fed my pretty mouth with a spoon,

Did weep while I should weep.

How much will I pay

For the pain you’ve taken for me?

Who worked that jumper to keep me warm;

Treated me with diffidence and respect,

Her healthy arms always be my stay,

And always admired my prudent face that filled with laughter.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Who tired me with apology for being tiresome,

And asked twenty questions and never waited for an answer.

My timidity struck her at the first sight;

When she taught me to expect something extraordinary.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I find such a pleasure

In obeying her commands,

That I take care to observe;

Shall soon come to bless me.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

I vow, I thought so;

Never, as among queens and princesses

In her age; to be explicit,

I’ve kept very little company

In pretty smooth dialogues with her.

How much will I pay

For the pains you’ve taken for me?

Ironies

A gross irony perpetuates
in the surrounding mists
that intrude like rays of night
on a season of blighted hope,
and sundering sense from morality

-Vain goes the fists against the foe
who is not without, nor far in distant hell.
worn is might and wind is turned to woe-

I suck at what I hope to bring to being,
and being is a curse from birth to death.
And even then, ridden with grave lack
that pitches intellect against a divine right;
like a candle sets the mists of night alight

HE HAS ME!!

Once upon a time...
I stood before my one true love
And spat in his face
That heart-breaking cliche
..."It's over between us"...
Yet in that moment, he loved me.

Many turns back when I packed up my bags
And moved out of that Mansion he gave me
Acting out in ways worse than words
Saying...
"I met someone else"...
All through it, he loved me.

Archon dionsyia

mists fall
t he cry of birds
the silence of the city walls

even the great voice of
the sea is hesitant
and murmurs dreams

and a crown leans
as the world
listens

It Darkened Daylight

What would I see if riding on a light-beam?

A bi-dimensional plane, or a geometric point?

I'd view the universe's wondrous mysteries agleam

and know the very blueprint of the Ancient One's own thought

Deliberation led to a great insight -

the formula that Albert Einstein shared

by linking energy and mass and light

-- now so well known - e equals m c squared

~~~~~~
The powerful ignition darkened daylight
then morphed into a deep eternal scream
Shadow Dancing
One thing I've been admired for
is my ability to create
a partnership with my body,
and my shadow that's purely, great!
I jest not, as I document
for those who have not seen
for instance, like St. Patrick's Day
when my shadow shows up, green!
I've been known to mix it up, a bit
but when playing music at a "gig",
I'm forced to leave my shadow at home
because his "dancing" causes patrons to "wig"!
After the Storm
I won’t worry any more
Like I used to before
I won’t worry; I’ll just fall in the doorway…
‘Cause it’s alright; alright?
I won’t shake away
All those damned head aches
I won’t shake; I’ll just close my eyes and prey
‘Cause someone’s got my heart in a cage
And it’s alright; alright?
This one is calling my name
A simple, subtle love; was this all a game?
‘Cause I don’t have the time…. alright?
Creations From Home
Come and join me
Here in my home
Where i welcome you all
Where i still sit alone
Creating Creations of joy and folly
Creations of heart
And Seasonal holly
Come in and get comfy
In my North Country home
Where body and mind
co-mingle whats sewn
Creations of style
Creations of hope
Of paint and canvas
Of beads and hemp rope
From fine fancy dresses
To cute garden gnomes
From jewelry hand-made
and orchards fresh grown
SPRING JAUNT
Sitting here hell-bound to write
a free verse poem late at night
free enough to hold some rhyme
and not be thought to be a.......sin
So I put my pen to pad
to convey a woodland walk
through spring woods of new light green
as though conversing with a friend
unrhymed as a soaring hawk
AMBIGUOUS LOVE
Sister Sarah said, her siblings are green
Steeped in the blues they fall headlong
When dealing with a willing opposite
Undefined emotions embedded in senses
Presumed love befall a smiling snare
Like a bubby traps set at rabbit holes
She prayed never to be caught there in
Declared fervidly, ‘Na love I go chop’
Her love has eyes on a thinking cranium
To see the masked on these preying people
A community that takes and thwacks hard
Like banana peels to stomach and bin
The Marine
As I lie here,
In this long forgotten place,
I realize I must look queer,
With this smile upon my face,
My blood has soaked the ground,
My rivers course run out,
But in this hour I have found,
Not one reason to sit and pout,
For all of those who came before,
And all of those to follow,
Destined are we now to soar,
To our families greater sorrow,
We’ve died on the shores of Tripoli,
And one day maybe mars,
We’ve died so you could say you’re free,
In each and every conflict of ours,
