How to get poetry news alerts online from Google.com (text and video tutorial by me)

1. Search “news about poetry” via Google using your search engines omnibox or by using the search box at www.google.com 
2. Toward the top you will see “In the News” and below that will be a (usually blue color) link that says “More news” followed by your search terms (we used “news about poetry”). Click it!
3. At the bottom of this page of news reports there will be something that says “Stay up to date on results for news about poetry.” To the right of this there will be a button that says “Create alert”. Click it!
4. In the box you can adjust your search terms or leave it the same.
5. Below this will be a blue “Create Alert”. You can click that now you may need to adjust your settings first. To do this, click the link that says “Show Options” beside the “Create Alert” button.
6. This lets you fine-tune all the criteria for the news updates you want from how frequently you get updates to what email you want the alerts sent to!
7. This email is the important setting. Make sure it is an email you actually use and not the old one that you’ve forgotten the password to.You also have the option here to send the alerts to an RSS feed if you use one. Using the RSS feed option should even allow you to put this newsfeed that you’ve designed onto your website if you have one.
8. Done!
