Dactylic Alexandrines

Time is a healer and softens the pain now I’ve lost all your loving charms.

Yet nothing consoles me when I remember, the warmth of your loving arms.             .

Dactyl (meter workshop)

.
Travel through time with me now and remember the hopes and the fantasies
Think on the dreams we had then, in those days when the world was so young.
.

Dactylic verse

Silly poem

Fantastic elastic

holds up our underwear.

Without it, big problems

our bottoms would be bare.

The second is a poem I wrote a while back a triolet called 'Old Friend'

It's not 100% dactylic, but I think at least parts of it are.

Dactyl Example (Wes's Meter WS)

Dark is the/ night when the/ bombs are re/leased from the/ enemies'/planes in the/ sky

What Flowers Do?? Catalectic dactyl

Talking to flowers for even a while,
makes you so happy and draws on a smile,
warms up your day with a very good start and
always fulfills with a sweetness your heart.

The Poet (Anapest ex.)

I can paint with no brush, nor with colours I'd draw
when the night has to coat and the dark has to fall;
I've my art, I can sing and alive I would show
what the words have to bring, and the magic they call.

Scansion

Catalectic Dactyl

What is the nature of things, said the man.
Guess, for I’ll not tell a thing of the plan.
Wonder and fuss with the thoughts if you can.
I will not help you a whit with the scan.

Anapest

With a book / you can cook

All this food / for each mood.

With that a/pron on tight,

Cook with all / of your might.

Walkabout... Trochee / Wes' Meter Workshop

Walk about so do we go
Stay on the road all dark night
Lie down come break of dawn sir
Before the heat of daylight

Anapest

Said the snake/ to the rake
