Of You, I Feel the Warm.

You returned most unwittingly
baring your soul and your arm,
while I saw clouds, you tried on shrouds
never meaning any harm;

I think of you, I feel the warm;

I think of you and feel the warm.

~

Ships always pass, but the neglected mass
never knows to question, "why?"

I really wish I knew, what am I to do?
When together if we could fly;
we'd touch the ceiling of the sky!

~

There's another fact, don't know how to act
your smokey nature calls to me!
Time after time, again; my familiar friend
has shared her company; to set me, "free!"

When she should have just let me be;

I still feel the warm, just let me be.

~

Ships blindly pass, and the neglected mass
never knows to question, "why?"

I could have rocked with you, but what am I to do?
you thought we were merely, getting high;
to me we touched the ceiling of the sky!

Comments

From this one and a few of your recent poems do I detect a change in style that just needs a while to settle down???????
Your older works were both serious and fun yet they had a song about them that kept my eye to the page, the eye seemed to wander or become stuck with this nearly new way of expression..
I hope that your flow will become as you think it should be, Yours Ian.T
