Yellow is My Color

Falling yellow leaves
Shifted in the sunlight
Before the midday hour
My natural hair hung gracefully
On my shoulders.

Nature reclaimed her path
I love the color of yellow.

Why is life this way
The homeless uncared for
By the powers to be
Controlling the masses
All over the land.

Yellow is my color
Yellow leaves drifted to earth
Yellow butterfly flutters by
In the green grasses
Grown tall from uncut lawn.

I kinda like the way you snuck in that societal question into the middle of this poem lol. And it's likely a typo but either butterflies flutter or butterfly flutters. That last stanza really brings the reader into the every day world..........stan

Glad you came to visit. I fixed that nagging typo. Lol
Unexpectedly I saw many yellow leaves fell to the ground as I sat by the window; immediately I decided to write this poem; as I was writing this poem i watched a YouTube video that showed poor and homeless people living in poverty picking through tons of trash as a way of life, mothers with little babies living on the streets, families snuggled up sleeping outside. Thus societal found its way in. glad you like it.
