Where is the Light?

In light of the world we say shines so bright
Why is it now so dark?
It’s hard to even see the shadows.
Hate consuming all that it touches
Almost completely destroying any trace of love.
There are tears in the eyes of our children and despair breeding in the hearts of men.
Yet, we claim to live in light.
Where has the light gone?
Why has it faded to nearly gray hues of shadow so dark I can’t even see in front of me?
Has the heart of men become so dark that we willingly destroy the light?
Yes, our hearts have become dark due to pain, heartache, famine, and loss.
But yet there is hope in the faith that all will be right again,
If only man would look past what we see in order to regain the light.

out of 5 stars.

This poem is a poignant reflection on the darkness that seems to be enveloping the world. The author poses thought-provoking questions about the state of humanity and the loss of light in our lives. The use of imagery is powerful, particularly in the line "gray hues of shadow so dark I can't even see in front of me." The contrast between light and dark is a recurring theme, and the author does a good job of exploring the reasons for this contrast.

One suggestion for a line edit would be to change "Yet, we claim to live in light" to "Yet, we claim to be the light." This change would emphasize the responsibility that each person has to bring light into the world, rather than simply living in it.

Overall, "Where is the Light?" is a well-written and thought-provoking poem that encourages readers to reflect on the state of the world and their own role in bringing light to it.
