waiting room

hurried thoughts invade my mind
awaiting my turn at Intensive Care
frenetic thoughts, void of all humanness,
clearly unaware of the void inside of me

the face that exits through the thick glass door
speaks a thousand words to my injured being
suddenly i feel a deep empathy for the grieving man
my own grief reserved at that moment of clarity

the embraces from family and friends
seem to deepen the hurt he has to endure
as the tears leap from his sodden heart,
falling on his breast and the oblivious floor

i enter through that same glass door
to where my brother hovers between life and death,
after having undergone open-heart surgery;
an unchartered terrain for my feeble steps!

the love i felt at that eternal point in time
for the man i only knew as brother of mine,
as the emotions gushily rush through my veins,
reaches a new dimension of cognitional realisation

This poem of compassion, a difficult time hope you felt better for writing this

Sen99 and Ray. I am glad to report that he is still in ICU but well on his way to recovery. To God all the praise. Feeling even better after reading your kind comments.

is one of the places I don't like going... I don't have the mind. I would feel so sad about everything around me. Talk more of taking a family member to ICU.
