An Uncomplicated stroll
I'm on a new road now
Hoping to walk calmly and quietly
Without the sight of misery
Chasing me to the nearest cliff edge
I'm hoping
That this path will be less twisted
Maybe less haunted
And even be straight forward?
But
If I come to a crossroad
And I don't know which way to go
I shall try to use my logic
Hopefully moving me in the right direction
Although
Maybe in the end
I might just have to except
It will be my heart that decides.

A tender piece
The coming to the crossroads in Life... point well taken!
A suggestion... just an idea to make stronger the point of your heart deciding things.
If I get to a crossroad
And don't know which one to choose
I shall try to use my logic to move forward
Although, in the choosing,

oh what can i say? my dear friend last year was one of my hardest for many reasons not just covid, which has effected us all but i had some interesting challenges personally, so your words are most welcome, and i shall keep you in mind when the great stuff happens.

Dear Teddy, lovely poem, tender and so true. I really think one's heart decides our next move, although sometimes logic must be used when you're faced with hard decisions. I'm sure you understand and have experienced difficult periods in your life. Sometimes one has to be almost cold blooded to get out of a dangerous deadlock in our lives. It's that primitive feeling of having to run away as fast as possible, so perhaps it's also biological.
Well, your writings certainly make me think a lot, which shows how good they are.

We all go through twisted roads, and yet we need to find our way out. To let your heart to choose is quiet a feminine way, though I'd say not always the safest dear, so take good care my friend.

Sometimes I hope other poets will come along and just praise my work without finding fault ((proud giggles))
Yes we all have the twisted roads and the unexpected news that's not always nice there are highs and lows for all, that's why I love writing this type poetry, I always hope I can speak to atleast one other reader. Good call on the heart part it's true it's not always the best way but as I am a women and I'm quite an old romantic too, it's in my personality to always most think with my heart. So good to see you here Rula, you are truly a huge part of Neopoet. X
