TRUE LIES

TRUE LIES
You said you would love me
forever
that was true…..
forever ]
was only a day for you.

You told me there was
no other
that was no lie
there were at least
four or five

now you said
you would never
walk away
nothing was more exact,
the fact is you put on your little
red sneakers worn and torn
from use and ran like hell
to who knows where
but sweat pea, honey bunch
what is true is that I was doing
the same to you.

darling, sweet of my heart
have you seen my Nikes,
the ones with worn down
treads

LOve the twist at the end!

Seems it was time for them both to move on! :)

Thanks for sharing. :)

Always do - you're a clever poet. :)

You still have a glaring brightness. Writing this witty little story proves it so.
And even if this is an oldie but goodie, the good sense to post it shows the light is still shining.

thanks

Al

the light still shines, not so bright, yet bright enough/
