The True Haul of Life

The True Haul of Life…

They’re hauling life about on their backs,
I can see it’s heavy invisible hard shell.
The only worry my people now lacks,
is about a non return ticket straight to hell.

Not that the rich don’t want us to have it,
they’d get rid of us commoners in a flash.
But they know they’d be well in the shit,
finding someone else to manage their stash.

But shell like or not we’re at least honest,
when it comes down to being a peasant.
Unlike them with that snotty silly accent,
it’s so unpleasant when plucking a pheasant!!

Get away from the humorous side of my nature,
then let me try to convince you of my plight.
That there’s far more to a man in his stature,
than ever get’s put on the television at night.

The measure of a man is not his courage,
and it’s certainly not his bloody wealth.
Better to measure man with a kinder gauge,
try seeing how his people’s dealing in health.

If his people are healthy and content,
their lives peaceful, fulfilling and good.
Knowing the worry shells not worth it’s rent,
his people all walking tall like they should.

Straight unbent without stress of money,
enjoying their children when off work.
Forgotten is the promise of milk and honey,
it’s a reality now, no one want’s to shirk.

Realising we need each others strength,
educate our children about their worth.
Being able to talk to them at length,
teach them how to value each new birth.

Learning from our farmers about the land,
the stonemason about what’s best to build.
Never trying to attain what’s far to grand,
everyone involved in the others social guild.

Striving as a community to be lawful,
knowing those policing us are earnest.
Tearing out that which is most awful,
this our new found stature’s stiffest test.

But know we will find a new way to govern,
those who need faith shall have their way.
None shall be put forward as a sovereign,
everyone is an equal when we work, or pray.

About this silly dream is what I’ll preach,
hoping that mere words might be enough.
For this totemic goal I’ll try to reach,
even if you or others think it's to tough....

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Last few words:
I've always been able to see it....

I've always been able to see it.

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.
