Today not Today...
Today not Today…
They walk in rags of highest order,
these people known to some as serfs.
Heads bowed, tempered not fiercely,
ignoring most of life’s adulations.
Can help be attained or given,
to a sullen language of postures.
As they walk quietly past wrongs,
never asking for hero worship.
Courage is staying alive today,
casualties strewn on streets hourly.
Facing a situation’s reality rarely,
keeps sanity in elapsed consciousness.
Safest is an anger never to be shown,
tip a hat to passing gentleman’s carriage.
The hem is unkempt but theirs to lift,
fabric made of malabsorption’s rule.
Academic excellence what of this,
learns young, it’s hand to mouth.
Weakest does fall at wayside often,
unable to accrue much value of status.
So the story gallops on at fastest pace,
but Trojan horse has bolted at an open gate.
Got jarred by crowd gathering falling icons,
their collars felt for lagging behind a vendor.
Lift your heads to hear the truth,
absorb righteously in a mind at peace.
Ignore ignorant magician’s uncertainty,
speak dear comrade speak, hear yourself.

Hey Roscoe
I was reminded of the middle east as I read this one ... there were a couple of places that need a small smoothing out, read it out loud and you will see where I mean
enjoyed the read its certainly a reality for some
