THANK YA'LL

The evening is now growing old,
a bit like , or so I'm told.
I sit here way too tired to sleep
and watch the long hand slowly creep.

My mind wanders to places far
where my new writing friends are
all the way around the world
where Aussie flag is kept unfurled.

So much talent in so many places
spread among so many faces,
some are gals and some are guys.
Compared to me they're mostly wise.

We reach each other via cable
and converse whenever we are able.
United Kingdom, Mideast, and Italy
India and lands I'll never see.

Others here in my homeland
( even Yankees, I understand )
all of ya'll whose words I savor
bring to me an exotic flavor.

Even those who read the stuff I write
seeming to think that it's alright.
I value all of you my friends
and hope our sharing never ends.

At last my eyelids feel like lead
it's time I join Susan in bed.

Ahh so sweet! True we have freinds in far away places, I think about fellow poets on Neo too we have a common bond - connected via poetry. This is a lovely tribute.

Thanks Stan

It's true, with technology, one can now share a common love for poetry / prose/ lyrics with others one might never have met otherwise. Not just SHARE but also get instant responses, and hold dialogue / conversations with people whose PHYSICAL voices one might never get to hear.

Till as recently as five years ago this was only a dream perhaps for many of us.

Enjoyed this thought provoking poem, Stan.

G'night! :-)

a few Yankees! Who would have thought? LOL I really like this tribute to Neo. and the inter-net. The syllable count is a little rough in places, but you said it well. I'm sure with a little work, that it would be smooth as silk from China. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with [even some Yankees]. ~ Gee

There is value to commenting and critique, tell us how you feel about our work.
This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

there are so many places where a conflict as recent as the war between the states would still be a reason for bitterness. We are fortunate to live in a country where the name calling is mostly in good fun................damn rebel scribbler

I hope you slept well Stan,
and can come back and entertain us more with your mind.

I thank you from my Norway,
with the snow and ice,
while down under the Spring reigns
and Summers perhaps just begun.

What fun we have,
you're right
we write, and write, and write
sometimes at night,
and in the day when others are
tucked in their beds and sleeping tight,
so strange it is that way.

My thanks for including us all
we are indeed blessed.
Love to you first and to ALL too
from Ann of the Nordic climes.

but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

Be assured your feelings are reciprocated..............stan

lovely honey dittoooooooooooooo

Dam, nobody tells me anything. And I been sleeping with Yankies just to spy on them.

Jokes a side. Bring peace to the world by making friends one at a time. We all have the same basic needs. When we make friends in other countries. We learn we're not really that different. www stands for world wide web. We are all nieghbors. If we can't all be friends. At least be civil. Speaking of civil. If my Southeren Belle doesn't behave. I'm going to get me anothe dang Yankie. Take Care. huey

I read somewhere the best way to defeat an enemy is to turn them into a friend. Good to see you agree.................scribbler PS war between the states ended and it seems the Southern strategy of allowing the north to think it won is having desired effects LMAO
