The Stranger Inside (poem about *eddy styx)

The Stranger Inside
a poem about eddy styx

nowhere to run
nowhere to hide
might as well face
the stranger inside
backed into a corner
up against the wall
I've a feeling I'm done for
this time I will fall
this rage I feel
I've tried to defy
weary of the fight
I may no longer deny
the sorrow and pain
warped into
anger from shame
fury emerges
uncontrollable wrath
I urge the meek
don't stray into my path
avoid at all cost
this stranger inside
for come hell or high water
it will eat you alive

*eddy styx is my malevolent, male alter ego who writes dark poetry

and fill-in on eddy. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to more revelations about him. Let eddy fly and you will feel the rage dissipate over time. You may not think so at the moment, but it does happen eventually. I have to wait for new things to happen that make me pissed; so that I can write Killer. Never thought that it would come to this! ~ Gee.

This must be the place, 'cause there ain't no place like this place anywhere near this place.

I feel a close kinship to Killer. I feel that I understand him a little bit better than most of his readers. Don't worry about running out of inspiration...there are plenty of stupid people out there in the world to piss you off. do you still drive a cab? thanks for reading my poem :)

*hugs, Cat
ever, eddy

Cat, this is really well written! It's a dark story but it reads very well and because of that I feel I'm getting to know about eddy. There are no critiques for the way you've presented it....everything about it works! I'm so glad you have 'him' to aid you in venting and getting the rage inside out. I feel badly for those who are unable to do so, because at some point I fear they'll 'explode' in some fashion that could be harmful to themselves and/or others!
Glad you shared this!

Best wishes my friend,
valene

thank you for your very insightful comment. you understand me very well. which I appreciate greatly. I know what you mean about holding something deep inside, until the pressure builds up explosively! that is the very reason I gave birth to "eddy styx." I "put my rage on the page" instead of hurting myself or others. before "eddy styx" I was a "cutter" now I am not. thank you again!

You're really putting eddy out there and by doing so I think it'll continue to help you let go of all that you've been through. It's very well written and i've no critiques for change. It's dark but an easy, and intriguing read, holding the readers attention, in this case mine, all the way through. In the end I believe that the person who is Cat, will be eating eddy alive and then spitting him out, cos in the long run, YOU ARE THE STRONGER ONE!

I am humbled by your faith in me. thank you. writing as "eddy styx" helps me vent an incredible lot of rage. someday I'll tell you more of where that rage comes from. happy holidays to you and your family :)

Thanks for the invite. Maybe if you'd like we could talk some time. If you have an iphone or smart phone and can download viber we can talk and text for free, etc..... You make calls with 3G or have wifi. It can also work with other devices. I've used it when I kids were out of the country even. Just a thought. I think there are other plans as well and i believe one of my friends called me using messenger a Facebook app. which is also free.
Just a thought!
And by the way, you have an amazingly understanding and kindness about you...guess that's why we met...2 of a kind....LOL!

Hugs,
val

I used to have Skype. I could get it again. i think it is still free. I'll check it out and let you know!

As a prelude to more Eddy writes or resurrection of the old, I love the flow in this piece and it is great, may I suggest that the Identity of Eddy be made less of a gender thing in this piece:-
.
I may no longer deny
her sorrow and pain "the sorrow and pain"
warped into....
.
my stranger inside "This stranger inside"
for come hell or high water
He will eat you alive. "It will eat you alive"
.
I feel that as a general piece, or even an intro the gender of the being, can be secreted into the mix as we evolve the way it causes such terror, bring in some out of reach identity of Eddy make it a fear of the unknown.
Hope you don't mind me putting this to you as your work is great and sometimes others must be quiet lol.
Yours as always Ian xx

the getting old and gnarly part
im trying to accept...
and finding people to relate is
harder and harder
except here and two
other places...well fb I guess
twitter...a little group there
of interest....but of the old
crowd....kinda slowing down
except with I get all fired
up but lately in a holding
pattern...but not bouncing
off the walls today..

thank U!
