THE SONG THAT STOPS YOU

THE SONG THAT STOPS YOU

The song that stops you in your tracks
when walking through a wood,
its mellow tones and striking shrieks,
its bubbling warbled notes,
arrest,

and standing still in awe,
we feel so blessed by nature's charms,
a calm still mirror,
like the lakes and hidden ponds,
pondering the beauty of the sound;

It dances round our senses
steals away all qualms,
and leaves one in a state of love,
caressed by dreamy thoughts,
as if we walk a painting of the world,
the whole,

its globe a blue so round
and good to hold,
a smoothened stone held in the hand,
a feather in the cap,
the eye, a glint of diamonds sapphire shone,
a stance well planted on this earth,
this place that gave us birth,
just listen to its song.

Beautiful, it feels just like a peaceful walk. Love Roscoe...

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

Thank you Rula and Roscoe, I often am stopped by the song of a bird, the blackbird, the robin or the warbler, mostly, they freeze the steps and fill the cup with the gold of their notes that permeate all one's being for the moments one listens. I have long bits on my video camera, with uninteresting woods but the sound.........ah, that sound.

Ann, your poetry often has such an earthy, wholehearted feel (though some can be quite spheric too., it is like I am there walking by your side, listening to the hustle and bustle of the forest, soaking in the sounds and smells...
I loved your title, it beckons the reader to step closer, look, enjoy, to get lost in your woods.
my dear Ann of Norway, I hope you are well. the winter is coming soon. but for now the autumn leaves are venturing towards the ground they originated from. fall must be beautiful where you are.
much love, many hugs
your Proprietress

There are a million reasons to believe in yourself,
So find more reasons to believe in others..
