THE SIMPLE THINGS

THE SIMPLE THINGS

The simple things employ my brain,
those things that others trip on,
those moments that just happen unawares,
they're there presented
and performed,
not for us,
not perhaps for anyone,
and yet when they're perceived they fill the mind,
the universe,

their every day occurrence
crystallised,
is realised as art,
the sudden change of song,
of colour, sky
those simple happenings
like eating, sleeping,
are a part of what life's all about,
a wisdom
hidden in each and every thing,
just living out its life,
its art.

I think many people don't realize it's the little things which, added together, make a life.............stan

Thank you for stopping by, yes the simple things,
can turn out to be the most important of one's life,
looking back at the dramas, one suddenly notices
something close to now, and all those dramas fade
into the recesses of the memory.

Simple happiness ...someone asked some one ...to give a few samples
This is what one said...
when an old man is traveling in a Metro
and someone gives him a seat
he smiles with happiness
a very simple gesture in today's world....

another said
a millionaire just picks up an old book
which he read as a child
and finds a pound sterling
simple gift for him
but what a pleasure. he too smiles...

another said a guy gave his penny to a guy
who had no hands and the guy smiled
wish you could put it in my pocket
but he smiled all his simple while..

small happiness’s bring simple pleasures
Hope you will smile at my simplicity
poet what!!!
you simply think i could be...

Yes I agree, and it is those little things,
or similar ones that inspire poetry too.
Even if the poetry is never written,
it is an inner poetry of the mind,
a little notebook of the mind,
to bring out and smile at.

well said
life isn't a destination - it's a journey
and i often have to remind myself to enjoy the 'doing' ...

'a wisdom
hidden in each and every thing,
just living out its life' xx

and i like the small rhyme there in the middle
- crystallised / realised
- it pulls the read up just in the right place

if any crit , i'd suggest some word loss in the first stanza - my suggestions
,
those things that others trip on, - ‘that’
those moments that just happen unawares, - ’those’
they're there presented - ‘they’re there’
and performed, -‘ and’
and yet when they're perceived they fill the mind, ‘they’re’

'Each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,
shall draw the Thing as he sees It, for the God of Things as They are.'
(Rudyard Kipling)

I understand your comment here judyanne,
the only thing against it, is the rhythm,
the extra rhythm, if you like,
that the added words give in the way of music,
but it would work equally and be SIMPLER
and more succinct as you suggest, I agree.
