Searching For A Conspiracy

I've heard about hidden valleys
and secret gardens
paradisal islands
and mystical mountain sanctuarys

not interested!

forbidden zones intrigue me more
the mystery of why so named
who, or what, lurks in such shadowy strangeness

the "dark web"
area 51
my neighbors locked shed

my humdrum life yearns, seeks, demands
exciting and exhilerating answers

more than likely, I'll just find disappointment

and bad judgement

They are a pleasure to read.
I think I see your poem in slightly different angle, tell me if I am wrong. But this is what you made me think about:

Everybody have their own Green Door.
It is skipped once in a hurry and
it is not there anymore,
and it doesnt matter what was behind it.
The tantalizing hopes to find it overpower everything else.
Oh how I would want to talk to that guy again, to help that lost dog, to take that spare bus ticket and travel outside my comfort zone.
And yes the mysterious attic, i saw the lights through the dense thicket in the park, and a deserted village, i passed on a motorcycle ride, and lost poem, I wanted to reread and forgot what page it was on.
Have you had this feeling that you want to return and it is not there or not the way you remember it?
I need to break the rule about how many times one can walk into the same river.

IRiz

growing up, my parents implied, if not overtly, but with certain looks of disdain about things that were not for us. We were not "that kind" of people. These things became forbidden in my mind. As I got older and covertly checked out some of these forbidden zones, I found them to be as benign and innocuous as any other things in my parents mundane life.

The green door phenomenon was real...what was behind it. .many of the other forbidden places I had been wondering about are not there anymore...so I have to search for forbidden places by proxy (in the poem) hoping to discover something BIG but usually only find disappointment. there was no reason for being "forbidden"

did you write the above piece. It has a strong universal human theme that should resonate with all It did with me.

I think we are not too far apart on our differing takes

Al, yes I did write it just now inspired by your poem. Perhaps I should work on it and see if there is a poem. Thanks for your reply, and please forgive my automatic phone corrections constantly adding an extra L to your name. I think it is a great name as is and doesn't need any extra letters.

IRiz

good poem Al which speaks about no holds barred living like a nomad and i think IRiz has got carried away in that mood....pleasure to read both....and learning the choices of words to express an unleashed mind...I loved the title "Search for Conspiracy"

yes, life is a risky business ...no risk, no gain...I only wish that some of that accrued self worth could be converted into cash!

It is truly gratifying to hear your flattering opinion of this poem, really!

thanks Mark,

In the first stanza you talk about unknown things then you quickly discount them as being too mundane.........huh?

those "unknown things" all have stories attached to them, as I said, I've heard of them;meanig iIve heard how peaceful, and romantic, and joyful and spiritually uplifting they are, almost as if they had brochures and posters hung all over the place.
I choose different destinations. I don't discount them, just not my cup of tea

does this help? Do you have investments in these kinds of places, in other words...do you have a dog in this fight (LOL)

I'm an equal opportunity discriminator...change my mind
