Scrapbooked Lover

Soon they forget your existence. Forget the way you take your coffee in the morning. It's bound to happen. You're holding on to the pain they left behind. The pain of loosing them is greater than the pain of daring to forget them too. Soon your smell on the hoodie you sent them will fade into nothingness. You will be pushed so far into the back of their minds, you will begin to question if you ever existed to begin with. Was this love just a cruel trick your mind played on your heart. Did we even exist to you?

Soon you will only be a memory to add to their ever growing scrapbook of ex lovers.

Nothing but a memory

But, even memories get forgotten and misplaced.

one of those poems that if I were to write it, I would use a different format.
I would use what I call the statement format. I would make every line a statement or question.
It would look like this:

Soon they forget your existence
Forget the way you take your coffee
The pain of losing them is greater than
Daring to forget them too.

Soon the smell of you on the hoodie
That you sent them will fade
You will be pushed far back into their mind
And begin to question if you ever existed for them

Was this love just a cruel trick
Your mind played on your heart?
Did we ever exist for you?
Soon you will be only a memory

Added to the scrapbook
Of their ever growing scrapbook of lovers
Nothing but a memory
And even memories are forgotten and misplaced

I hope that you don't mind that I did a little edit
and tried to help you put this in a format easier to read.
Of course, this is your work and you can use or discard
anything I've given you.
