SAY, "CHEESE" --updated

SAY, “CHEESE”

“I’ll see you when I see you”
I said.
By that time
I will probably be dead.

How nonchalant and cool
of me.

I wish you well”
“Go to hell”
Is what I meant
But A thorough thoroughbred
am I.
And so I hung up the phone
faked a voiced indifference
And began to die
again

Say, “cheese and smile”

Amuse with cheese if you please,
my mother one her last day
said the equivalent of these
and laughed in spite of pain
her humour filled her mind,
came back again and joined in the refrain.
Say cheese!

It could be the irony,
the saying of cheese for the proverbial photograph
how false that can be
the grin of the Cheshire cat in the trees.

Each happening in life we take, or not,
in our own manner,
we wonder how we will react to it too.
We hope like you.

"The image of yourself which you see in a mirror Is dead,
but the reflection of the moon on water, lives." Kenzan.

Each happening in life we take, or not,
in our own manner,
we wonder how we will react to it too.
We hope like you.

Takkk for det, Anni

do you know ‘i am the cheese’ by robert cormier?
as I read this his story came to mind

your poem conveys to me that ‘trapped’ emotion in a world that was difficult to understand, that the book also conveyed to me
the acceptance that is inevitable, but the anger still at those around you, as if they know or have something that you don’t, and you know they don’t…

emotive in a well f--- it all - big sigh – I am the cheese
and the cheese stands alone

I wouldn’t change a word
big hugs

shall draw the Thing as he sees It, for the God of Things as They are.'

You hit the nail on the head
