In sanity we are abnormal
A violation of societal norm.
Insanity is our backward culture
That a man cannot love another man.

In sanity our Leaders build schools at home
Only to send their children to study abroad.
Insanity is feasting on Tobacco
Knowing 'smokers are liable to die young'.

Insanity is necessarily not
The mad man in a bin at the market
Stealing food and trolling passersby,
You are insane for not being sane enough.

Insanity is seeking development
while reserving millions of dollars abroad.
Insanity was Goodluck Jonathan,
Madness is Buhari Osibanjo.
When the Child is Father of the Man
what did you expect?

Don't accuse me of breaking the flow and destroying the harmony,
Because I am mad and your madnesses provoked mine.

Insanity is bathing in oil wells and not being able
to afford three square meals a day,
While we live from hand to mouth.
Insanity is people thinking I am mad
because I'm always talking to my worms.

In sanity, they give us RUGA
A settlement for cattle,
When the people of Badagry have
homes floating on erosion water.

Insanity is being the giant of Africa,
but not providing jobs for the citizens.
It is Bokoharam, it is Herds men,
It is the North set up against the East.

Insanity is Blacks roasting Blacks
in xenophobic attacks,
Gaddafi and Mugabe not given an heroic passing
Because we are more concerned about BBNaija
or Game of Thrones.

In sanity the Jesse Wests defend Cyber Crime
Because we are more willing to defend our failures
With a perceived political propaganda
Instead of own our blunders and man up to affect change.

Insanity is having children with flies in their eyes
And their belly swollen like they swallowed melons,
But their intestines washed with your greed...
In the same sanity we conduct pregnancy tests
By killing babies in metal weapons for vehicles
galloping in portholes.

Insanity is when the man living in a castle
Is taking money from the man living in a slum
And he nods like a lizard in conviction
Because it is the way to serve a god...

Insanity is the name of my country,
Where mosquito nets are sold,
Where children die of polio and malaria.
I swear to God which is myself,
That Insanity is Nigeria.

In sanity we are The More Crazy
As we are running a 'Demokrasi'
Where the curds for Fulani sheep and cows
worth more than the lives of the citizens.

Footnote: 'Demokrasi' (coined from a yoruba word "Demo" meaning "flaunt in pride")

Review Request (Intensity):
I want the raw truth, feel free to knock me on my back
Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
What did you think of the rhythm or pattern or pacing?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?
Is the internal logic consistent?
