A Sadhana of Mahalo

There is a vanishing point
between the horizon and jasmine sea
there are places we have to go
because we have a song to sing

you are here on this unwritten page
like poems we have yet to speak
like love that unmakes us
that splits the you and I
of us
into two
again
and again.

We drown in that distant light
deep with kisses and broken wings
that remember
the sound of our yielding.

We have reached the grey flat land where river
and ocean must meet. Where stones have their say
and rocks are tied to clouds.

The wild geese have returned as they will.

This was written yesterday too, after watching *THE WAY* the night before.

Traveling Companion

The red lantern sun is not Sufi or Jew, Christian
or Hindu,
The cold light of moon shimmering on the river
all must pass
is not Buddhist, Muslim or atheist,
but...oh my sweet lord,
how soft the green tufts of grass
under weary and bloodied feet
at the end of our pilgrimage,

and who shall we say was ours to love alone?

"like love that unmakes us"

I think I like that line the best, simply because the phrase fits the way I've been feeling lately about a relationship of my own.

This poem paints a complete picture of a situation that births a hard to describe feeling. It's a beautiful poem.

It is such a secret place, the land of tears. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Thank you for reading gothgirl, Esker & Blue. Poetry comes from psychic surgery sans benefit of anesthesia on one's heart.

Quite painful and sometimes even beautiful.
