Return of my Muse

Oh, it’s you!
Welcome back, dear muse;
you are as lovely as you were
in my all my youthfull dreams.

Yes, now I know why my poems lacked luster:
it was your absence. You are so beautiful,
and now I can see all your creations
surrounding you; they are the aura
from which poets draw their inspiration.

I can imagine every conceivable poetic thought
clinging on to you as you walk
through this poet’s garden, my mind,
placing one spark of a fine notion
into fertile ground, moving on
to tend to a bud-like first draft.

Now, I am at peace.
Once more you have set my barren mind
ablaze with your inspiring essence.
Welcome back, love . . . but do tell--

where do they go when they disappear? I like the welcome back and the description of: "I can imagine every concievable poetic thought, clinging on to you as you walk through this poet's garden..." I would leave out the [on]. ~ Geez.

Yeah, I have pondered the same question: Where in hell had that strumpet been? I think she deserves a spanking--from both of us (I'll hold her). Thanks for the suggestion).

be well..

every writer has to have a muse, but I'm about ready to trade mine in for a bottle of Irish whiskey that's much more reliable and always there for inspiration. Thank you for the visit, Raj.
