The Pinnacle of My Evolution
I guess, if I’m not suffering
In at least one way
Then I may just be dead?
Who said that life was for living?
Let’s be honest
It’s not all rose petals and confetti
It’s bloody hard
One day you can be at the top of the mountain
And then in a flash
On the floor
Sitting uncomfortably
with those rocks people speak about
You know,
When things can’t get any worse
Still I try not to take the lift or escalator up
I like the stairs
Some might say I’m a glutton for punishment?
But I’m not done yet.

Hi Teddy
Life isn't a bed of roses but of roses and nails; neither is it a straight line but a winding trail. We shall overcome whatever life throws at us. Thanks for the piece.
Bathe yourself with poetry and let the world go to pieces.

Not done yet...
I like that attitude. I'm sure that you are thinking of all the possibilities, so I am confident that you will figure something out.
Taking the stairs is sometimes beneficial to one's health. Gives you time to think and breathe. Your attitude will win out and you will find your way. I like the fact that you are using short, simple lines and are keeping it uncluttered. It makes it feel like you are focused and able. ~ Geez.

Dear Geezer
You speak with a gentle heart, and of course you are right, we all have these moments, I've had them before and will have them again. So the best thing to do is move forward upwards with positivity.
Thank you...Teddy

Just look at..
the face of that kid in the tub! Could it hide anything other than a gentle heart? LoL ~ Geez.

It goes dark here every night ...
Teddy. The animals don't know what lies in store for them tomorrow they just have to trust that all will be well for them. I suppose their instinct tells them that soon the daylight will return.
THE FARMYARD AWAKENING
The cows are in the cowshed
The sheep stray here and there
The fowl flop in their feather bed
And calm is everywhere.
The ploughman's hands rest idle,
The plough horse in her stall;
The harness and the bridle
Hang useless on the wall.
The darkness on the hilltop
As shadows from there spill;
The paddles of the mill stop ~
The waterwheel lies still.
The evening air is silent now
The breeze is whispering warm
The highlights of the moon, somehow,
Cast clouds of ghostly form.
Yet soon the thirsting grass is quenched
When sprinkled down with dew
And daylight o'er the land is drenched
As morning starts anew.
Then cows awake when sheep unbed,
The cockerel cracks the calm.
The plough horse shakes her drowsey head
As sunlight floods the farm.

Dear Teddy,
This explores life's relentlessness in a very raw way. I find myself relating and reliving while reading! Love to read your stuff!

My dear Rula
Yes January has been most challenging, but I write this on behalf of all of us and you are right, what I truly believe is things could always be worse, I feel lucky for so many things. Thank you sweet friend.

The Pinnacle of My Evolution
Hello, Teddy!
So...your title. Does this mean that you have reached the peak of evolving? I'd like to know, because at 63, I still haven't reached mine - in fact, it's more out of focus than ever! You are so right. On top of the mountain, and then on the floor. But soon on top of the mountain again! Great poem that relates to life for all of us.
Thank you, Teddy!

Dear lavender
Not at all, we seldom reach it indeed like you have pointed out although as humans we really wish we could. It's all inside the poem. I try and try but still I'm walking up, and falling down. Thank my dear Lavender
Thank you...Teddy
