For Patricia (March contest)

New England forest
in the springtime;
shades of
green
brown
and gray
trees and granite
leaves and moss

Undergrowth;
blueberry, fern
and saplings

Each oak grows
in its own direction
with dead branches
and bright green
new growth.

Pine all sizes
grow mostly straight.

Granite boulders
are moss covered
and scattered all over.

there are trails,
and if lucky
there may be a marsh
or even a stream
to follow

It will be weeks
before the color
of wild flower
and berries
wind comes up
and old things
start to fall
while new things
begin to breathe

I have a friend who feels gray
and wish I could bring her through
the forest today,
to breathe some fresh air.

Hope Patricia is better soon. Interesting that you spell [grey] then gray. ~ Geezer.

get the British spelling with gray. I don't know why but it happens a lot.
Think I'll fix it.
Thanks,
