pain of loss

any kind of loss is painful...
though I only lost my old car

but grieve only for a while
as the departed had no choice

why linger about it any more
as the ones who come
will go away for sure

neither you nor I shall remain forever
tis known sincetimes ever

so grieve for a while and shed all tears
then move on as usual without fears....

author comment

As raj I read this as a comment for a poem by Judy, now you are being so lazy, it could have been made into a great poem by your hand.
Why do you do this most of us read the comments that are made on poems.
Not much else to say on this it is still unfinished, I will read it when you have done so, Yours as always, Ian..
I took the liberty with your words:-
.
Why? Why did you have to leave?
That others may stay and watch a space.
I know all kinds of loss are painful
From my old car to my friends children

We bear the grief and share the tears

Grieve for a while as respect and memory
Make it a finite measure of your being
Linger not in a place that will engulf you
They have surely taken their rightful place.

Let not our fears join their ways

All are measured by the trail they leave
Each within their own time will journey so
Neither you, nor I, shall remain forever
So grieve for a while, shedding all the tears.

Then journey on with your own pathway.
