My God we were mad!
To have looked at life in such an abstract way
And it was worth it still
So we ran into the night,
We danced our crazy dance,
And howled at the moon,
To let it know that down here are a bunch of mad young minds,
A bunch of reckless philosophers running wildly on the concrete,
Under the street lamps.
And eventually we stumbled into our own little reality,
We found solace in that place.
Where everything was holy and just,
And there was no need to run around wildly anymore,
Because we had found it.

Review Request (Direction):
What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
How does this theme appeal to you?
How was the beginning/ending of the poem?

I enjoyed reading this immensely, as it seemed to somehow fit the current mood I am in! Well-rounded piece of work with nice phrasing and good solid imagery!

Glad you enjoyed it

This piece was lovely, in that you showed with a few words all the experiences of youth and the conclusions reach, this is probably called "The Wisdom Of The Years"
Sometimes we find it so hard to let go of that beautiful learning time, you take care and live as you should,

I notice that your replies over the last year or so have not been very interactive, Barbara sometimes just says half a line then "Have a cheerful day" it seems that to comment on works and expecting a reply or interaction falls by the way.
Many poets here would love to learn, here is a comment from me over a year ago:-
Would love to have you reply to us here,
it gives us much more to do.
You have stated:-
"That you are a poet."
Come walk with us,
Yours Ian . T
You see there is not much change, would love to see you join a workshop or two, maybe your time is short, will look out for your future works, Yours Ian.T

You're right about time being short. I've just been hammering at a lot of college work lately, and being that I am in the final stretch of the semester, my mind is kinda geared towards the subjects. In fact I wrote that last comment from my phone in my English class. But when I do get some time on the weekends, late at night, or between breaks I like to put some things together and try to critique some work.

Thank you again for reading the poem. Indeed I agree with what you said. I find this time in my life to be strange in that I'm suddenly coming to realize much about human nature and the way people think. I drew much of the inspiration from the beat generation and their style of thinking. I also draw a lot of inspiration from my setting. There is a lot of creativity here in California, but there is a lot I have observed about people here. LA is an epicenter of trends and superficial balderdash(< I blame Gertrude Stein for that last), which consequently means that I am noticing a sort of decline in actual imagination here. Which makes the poets journey all the more important, to bring some madness into the mix(< That Kerouac style of madness). I can't imagine a time in my life where I wouldn't be thinking like this anymore, to be chasing that holy thing we call IT. But I guess when we find it, all will be clear and good. Thank you again for reading and keeping me in mind, I truly appreciate it.

I guess that as you are at college your time here will be limited, that's fine, just as long as we know.
It is through our lack of knowledge of some we make judgements that are not correct.
Later as you journey on you will realise the different levels of life and the influences of each as we visit them.
I have been around a long time and maybe should listen to my own wisdom.
This though becomes dimmed by wanting to have longer days as we grow older, children wishing about tomorrow, and the older ones wishing about the shortness of now.
It is the middle times that are the best, let them meander through your thoughts many times, grasp hold of all the places like yesterday, the now, and tomorrow with equal love and understanding, this is where the birth of the "Wisdom of the years" is instilled in our beings.
Take care out there and the best of things for your education, Yours Ian .T
