O Niagara

O Niagara

your flow of water is eternal all know
the world divides into two as
Bill Clinton once said
Those who have seen the Taj Mahal of India
and
those who haven't...

I wish he had so said
about something as near home
as the Niagara Falls
put to shame as natures gift of natural wonders

the flow is constant
millions of tonnes fall per second
even in winter
Save in a rare year
Niagara also freezes
so does my heart

The Queen of mist smiles
But Ah! At last
when all water comes to rest
at minus something, something
men can walk across the fall
as for some only twill be an everlasting memory

come see Niagara through my eyes
I will post original snaps
but my cell got lost
in the Niagara mist
How sad!
WELL WELL WELL I FOUND IT HOW GLAD!

I too am fascinated by those falls (and the beauty of the ones in Yosemite).
The poem's rhythm worked well this time for me.

My comment as it was when reading this one as a comment,
Loved,
We visited Niagara Falls one winter while working in Ottawa, it was Minus 10 at the time, there was NO mist, Loads of icicles on the American falls and heaps of snow and Ice in the basin where the main falls fell, I think that this would have been one of the best times to visit it was astounding.
I took pictures from the lift on the outside of the Skylon, a sight never forgotten though a few years ago now, I have a trade Dollar from that day and the tickets silly ole me saves everything lol.
One of the natural wonders of the world..
This comment would tidy as a good poem, so have a go at it before you stream it, I see you have streamed well done..

Cant remember if I posted this bit for you on stream I cant find it there, but as Digit is around that area I thought you would like to read if you haven't already:-

Route 66

I was travelling down route sixty six
My auto was playing some nasty tricks
I knew I was in a fix and rather late
Who would I know in this state?

Wait a minute there on a gate a sign
It said auto shop ninety nine
“Bar D” that said it was a ranch
But in a back yard another branch

I guessed the sign was upside down
So into the ranch I sped with a frown
It couldn’t be the one and only
A Stratford lad a poet lonely

Had to smile after being there a while
The man’s name was William S Peare.
I daren’t ask for his middle name
Though after I thought it was a shame

He told me a story from when a child.
They called him shaking this made him wild
Becoming ill St Vitus made his parents fear
The children called him Shaking Speare.

Now this is why above the gate you see
For that bad old childhood memory
“Bar D” as we all know the great Speare.
Is the one we truly love and revere.

Tak care and have fun, Yours Ian..
