O dad pop come back

I lost my dad forty eight years
down memory lane
he always helped me
to misery sustain
but left me so much pain
no, not as much as from his departure
as much as the ills
and Wills
he left upon my shoulders
then hardly thirty

Still today
I am taking pills
he has left no payments
for my medical bills
and
the laziness
and
non cooperation of my siblings does kill
when will you join pop all ask me still.

How I wish pop came back
in some form
and
evacuated me
from this miserable dorm
of only toil
as in summer I boil
as he basks in the heavens
all alone
but has left me
to only moan

These two lines struck me as odd:
'Till today
I am taking pills'
It implies you have stopped taking pills as from today.
If you haven't stopped, perhaps
'Still today,
I am taking pills'
would work better.
Feel free to ignore, just a suggestion.

I'm having a lovely hols here in North Norfolk - google the beaches, already have half a poem formed. It's one of the most haunted counties (states) in England, positively teaming with ghosts, lost villages and one submerged under the sea. Also a phantom dog, with one huge red eye. To see it is rather bad luck, your death will follow swiftly!!
Gorgeous weather and fridge full of pink Prosecco, what more could a girl want.............
Actually, Lovedly, don't answer that, lol, I am sure your answer wold probably have a certain innuendo.

is one of the few poems that violates that unspoken rule of most "poetry": you take a hard subject and don't lie about it. I enjoyed it, thank you

My father was a pretty strict person when it came to raising children. And I hated that at the time. But now he is gone and I'd love that he was still here regardless of his faults...........stan

child is the father of man
each son is taller
than his pop
but overall man is becoming short
pops et all
we love them still
as we OWE them
for our learning skills
hope agree you will
