My Tulips (Wordsworth's) Daffodils
As I drove in to Ottawa
Capital of Ontario
my heart for a short while went slow
what I saw lay ahead of me
were a million dazzling tulips
so multi colored were these
Wordsworth’s daffodils
came to me
my mind was fresh
as the breezy tulips
had calm about them
now unknown as the flowers are grown
and sadly drooping in the worst scenario
of Canadian beauty
all tulips now have tears like us
the sun comes up just to console
lady birds once again
you will be sound and whole
like tulips of yore
as before
Wordsworth will come by
just to say Hi
Daffodils, Oh my
No poet the great
these are not your flowers
of your plate
these are my Tulips
Oh poet mate
you are now duly late
let me yet remain up to date
Tomorrow with destiny I have a
trysting date
your daffodils may
but
my tulips can’t wait

hello lovedly
A lovely read indeed. It could be a good tribute to Wordsworth. It's just not clear for me why those tulips are sad, or it might be just me.

Thank u Rula for the lovely comment
the tulips are presently sad
owing to excessive Corona in Canada
sad it is no!
