Messenger

The message comes like a shaft of light
inhaled
it sends itself out to the farthest reaches
of empty spaces
and calls itself inspiration--
with drums,
we beat it,
with eyes,
we feed it,

But then we kill the messenger.

Quite honestly, don't ya think? But
never question why the sky turns darker
some days than others.

a shaft of light inhaled, always been into synaesthesia.

Me like too the inverse reflexivity, that which is received is sent, shadows of The Uncertainty Principle, Schrodinger's Cat and quantum physics?

yes, me like.

The messenger comes wrapped up in all disguises.

You know that. ;-)

the very idea of quantum physics, Schrödinger, complexity, uncertainty, emotion, sent my my ultra-rational conservative christian father into conniption fits of rage.

He shot a lot of messengers.

I tend to hold them hostage for a better message.

One thing is quite clear, Jess. The pendulum swings. Every action necessitates a cause and effect of an equal and exact reaction. The paradox of one and two.

How do the few *creative* and original thinkers balance the many followers? I'm not sure. But thankfully, there's always a few that raise the consciousness of the many.

I can sense that, it is a strong sensation.

So many messengers, their shadowed presence lurks,
when others blatantly destroy the peace of mind,
but what would we do without them?

They are the quick of life itself, the reality, the dream,
the coming and the going of all things that age and are renewed.

May all your messengers be positive and good,
for you and yours.
Ann.

Thank you for your read and comment Ann.

However, my message/messanger is my life. There are some who don't agree with it, can you imagine that?

Looks to me that the messenger wasn't that important, from these lines:

"it sends itself out to the farthest reaches"

and
"...and calls itself inspiration".
It looks like the message has a life of its own, which may actually be the case, for all messages we receive.

The poem also seems to say that it's the audience that matter more. They feed and and all that. But the messenger gets killed. Tough luck.

The messenger is shot down and than brought back up.

It is like the old saying - Don't shoot the messenger. And they shoot them anyway:) I like this and hello to you Anna Belle. Hope you and Barry are doing well whereever you are.

Peace

You, more than anyone else I know exemplify what I'm so striving for in changing the paradigm @ Neopoet.

Instead of harboring resentment, you understand intimately with that saying: "what doesn't break you only makes you stronger."

I hope you and yours are well. Thank you for the living proof of your example.
