Mad Professor

911, state your emergency
Yes, I need to extract stupidity
Is there such a surgery

Excuse me sir, I’m a bit confused
Well, operator, so am I
See, my intelligence was abused

Sir, are you in any kind of danger
Not precisely but my sanity
Is being stolen by a stranger

Sir, are you taking any medications
Yes, I have a mini pharmacy
Which are good for his complications

Is, there another person in the room
Yes, an accredited professor
Who is disturbed I assume

Sir, I am going to call the paramedics
Wait, let’s call Mr. Holmes
To investigate this imposter’s merits

Sir, you sound delusional and paranoid
Yes, I m with a mad scientist
The symptoms are hard to avoid

The only thing i'd change is , assume to presume in the fifth verse. Apart from that i think it's an amusing and clever poem. Great work. Reagards Roscoe...

A tidy write of a disturbed mind, Maybe some outside medication is due lol. A book on how to shrink from a shrink should be written and then read to appease the mind lol, Yours Ian.T.

Of course the flickers terrified me
but this is an amusing embellishement
with modern relishment

"Im with a mad scientist
whose symptoms Ive assumed"

my change to it..in the psych wards it was
easy to associate with others and sometimes
reflect the malady of the other in the intense
atmosphere

greatly enjoyed this peice Paul!

I really like how your poetry has expanded as of late. I enjoyed the humor and almost sarcasm of this one, and it brought to mind several professors I had in college who were down-right WEIRD! I don't know why, but a passage from a Steven King novel called "Firestarter" was also brought to mind - probably because he talks about a mad professor who is starting to sssssssrrrrrrinkkk. (he was on a mild psychotic drug, and was tripping.)

Anyway... yeah... LOL
