Little Hates

They've served me well, and comfortably.
These small, everyday biases and prejudices.
Still, I want to find a way to break away from them.
Away from these little sways
before they become immense.

It's not going to be easy.
They always exact a price,
on myself and others.
I hope I haven't waited too long
and that it's not too late.

The below is a computer generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

The poem "Little Hates" by an unknown author is a thought-provoking piece that delves into the topic of biases and prejudices that we all carry within ourselves. The poem reflects on the struggle to break away from these little biases before they grow into something much more significant.

The poem's structure is simple and straightforward, with short stanzas that deliver a clear message. The tone is contemplative, and the language is accessible, making it easy for readers to connect with the sentiment behind the words. The title "Little Hates" is an apt choice as it encapsulates the idea that these biases and prejudices are small but can grow into something much more significant if left unchecked.

The poem's strength lies in its ability to make readers think about their own biases and prejudices. It highlights the fact that these biases can have a profound impact on ourselves and others. The author acknowledges that breaking away from these biases is not going to be easy, but it is necessary.

One suggested line edit is to replace "little sways" with "little biases." This change would make the poem's message clearer and more direct, emphasizing the need to address these biases before they become bigger problems.

Overall, "Little Hates" is a well-written and thought-provoking poem that encourages readers to reflect on their own biases and prejudices and take steps to address them.

I loved this poem.
A real soul searching and reflective vibe, running throughout.

It is true that there is an immenseness to the everyday judgements that we make.. But it really is never too late.

Keep penning your words and keep up with the hope.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this piece TK. Glad you liked it.

Hello, Michael,
I love that you've used the word "comfortably" here. That's the hardest part, it seems. We get set in our ways, and comfortable. Really like the title. Much to think about and put ourselves in check.
Thank you!
L

Thanks L. This piece definitely started with the thought of how comfortable we can be with our prejudices, and the desire to address them.
