to faith, the physicist remains adverse
determined there’s no god, says there’s no need
for a designer, as the universe
itself, could be the cause of its own seed

with postulates of branes (no, no not brains)
and strings and bubbles (scientific slang)
while using math enough to cause mass migraines
they guess what happened prior to the bang

although the math displays what just could be
it seems to me a foolish thing to claim
with tools of only one reality
one can disprove what’s outside known domain

it’s like the comic character says, ‘you’ve
got to listen to me, I insist
with crayon, paint and pencil I will prove
the cartoonist does not, in fact, exist’

This sails along smoothly and with wit
and mirth

My father worked forty years on the railroad
retiring with a send off from the engineers
from the north where he worked extra gang
His own hometown crowd was quiet

still he loved ryhmning poetry
(sp) and would recite Sam Magee
and make up works while hunting
waiting for the dog punchers to push
the deer through (Our meal for the winter
months)

I cannot help but to smile as the fondness
of technique falls into step with this
read

and after having put some time in with
studying the bible for a year with some
folks I can only say that in all of natures
design and in the heavens above
there really must be a higher order
then just our mere mortal brains

along with human chatter in our street
I cannot hellp but to dwell on the wonder
of our repository of natural abundance
in insect and avian wonder

To Big Bang and Beyond

Esker!

thank you

lol – the cremation of Sam Magee – I so love that poem – I love the rhythm…. do say so if you disagree, but I think Service was the first rapper….
‘Now Sam McGee was from Tennessee, where the cotton blooms and blows.
Why he left his home in the South to roam ‘round the Pole, God only knows.
He was always cold, but the land of gold seemed to hold him like a spell;
Though he’d often say in his homely way that he’d sooner live in hell.’

and imho, we can go backwards or forwards or sideways either way to elicit a beginning to our universe, yet still the theories rely on something that pre-exists it….

too, there are many scientists who do believe in a designer (Einstein called it the ancient one)…. and I have read/seen many docos that attest to this ‘other’ side of the story, that are very compelling

the human problem is in thinking that the designer takes responsibility for us… we are responsible for ourselves, and live in the vibe of our own making along with those of the same vibe

thanks esker for the read, and that you were reminded of Sam Magee when you read this is a great compliment to me xx

a town near us was selling its old stuff
and there was Kennedies adresse and
Dylan Thomas reciting christmas stories
I bought Kennedy of course but forever
miss that I didnt pick up Dylan's disc

He moved to New York to write and I think
died a typical alcoholic death rather sooner
then later

treasures like this in the odditie department
I was always finding
Marg Atwoods first book for sale at twelve dollars
in great shape except for the crib notes all throughout
completely bringing its worth to zero
I passed up on this and i love Atwood
(She came north to Callendar just down the road
to do a workshop on writing childrens literature)

something is in charge of making all this stuff
its not random

I dont think anyway

No matter what theorum they might use
they can't tell who lit the fuse...........................liked it..............stan

in few words too lol
- let's make a senryu :)
what theorem
they might use
who lit the fuse?

glad you liked it

just imagine that you are alone and the world calls you …GOD

and you have no PA no staff
no one to see how you fart,
no one to give a helping hand and tell you,
you are unstable
when your off to land
and then shake your hand
and say here I am God
come bow to me,
I have made a work of creativity
you may call out to me
and the world that I have carved,
from nowhere,
is the magician’s flair..

You are then God,
still alone ,
none to clap and say well done
then would you not sulk as anyone
and say God what shit
who am I?

any way let’s make a world combined.
add water, earth and sunshine,
then the air will dry
and what will be born
is the first fungus
then go and see alongside any river
wet and since dry stream
Neopoets will now,
at me scream
when I will reiterate
that its Time God
and man alone didn't rhyme
but the creatures,
tadpoles are born in slime…
go watch it for yourself,
how bacteria are born
and over ages a big human bacteria
with life’s limitations…
you call it Soul
but I call it the Times manifested whole,
integration of DNA,
is no question one may ask
beware don’t still wear a false mask
God is you,
are you not
may I now ask?

'so god wanted to see himself, he made his reflection'...

some theories suggest that however many billion years (we believe) it has taken for the single cell to evolve into a sentient mammal, has not been long enough.... that it would be impossible for it to have happened in such a short (geological that is) time... interesting eh?

Here's one for the scientists, our world is far to beautiful and complex for one being to have constructed. And the same old arguement why if he did, did he make the cleverest animal so murderous. Anyway if i'm proved wrong, i'm sure he'll be a songwriter poet, not a scientist.. Nice poem. Love Roscoe..

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.

lol roscoe - if you are talking about humans i wonder.....

but i agree with your last comment - he's definitely a poet :)

What a great write of all those things that may or may not have happened.

Humon's need to put a beginning to things as they are born and the other end they insist that things will end as they themselves die.

They wander the Earth plain searching for answers, how stupid to devote your life to finding an answer where there is none and never will be.
We are creatures that borrow a body for a while then move on.
What we do when in that body dictates to where you move to.

You are born, you die, between the two is as a line finer than your hair, as there is no time, you are an energy that can change but never be destroyed.
It is your choice if you are a good energy or bad, it is only you that can decide this, that will do Ian, in the next bit, I will try the wine it is easier on the Brain not brane lol,
Yours with science head on, Ian.T

Brane may refer to: Membrane (M-theory), a spatially extended mathematical
concept that appears in M-theory; Brane, archaic name of Bordeaux wine
producer ...

No matter how different are the opinions, there sure is a God who puts this world in order. Otherwise it will be but a mess.

greatly appreciated :)

it is up to us to put this world in order... we need to grow up and realise that we are responsible for our own selves... there is not anyone who will 'fix' it for us

16 Lines and look at all the discussion you have raised..
This on its own shows what an excellent piece this is.
I can see the poets of old that would gather in groups talking about this type of subject for days, Hope more read and comment.
