shinny in gravel indifference
the hot flies of summer we took shots at
in the rain gathered on rooftops
the overhangs
flanges and open doors
stairwells of cooking piss and dust
the darkness grounded
the skies drifting past the doorframe freedom
someone always had a smoke a ten

the girls were always on he roll
like the surftide beyond the b each
where we wallowed free and high
crashing down in the dead quiet of
autumn watching leaves

sneaking in and watching old re runs
subtitles nipping on a bottle
till they kicked us out running and laughing
into the lights and drama of the street

parks quiet and never safe
the few brave stars beyond the haze
gathered huddled up on piles of leaves
content the hunger of no where to go
a freedom coursing through our veins
like thunder of the trains

Tremendous imagery, took me back to my youth in the sixties and some of the things we got up to. Regards Roscoe...

Roscoe Llane,

Religion will rip your faith off, and return
for the mask of disbelief that's left.
