Hope, Unity, Love, and Peace in the Age of the Pandemic by Lukman Nurudeen

Amidst the mystified hell and solicitude
In this miserable time of crisis,
We all should hope for solidarity.

In solidarity, we have to stand
With all our noblest & deadliest peacemakers.
Again, there'd be love for humanity!

Without overlooking Hope, Unity, Love, indeed
All human beings will find Peace
Indisputably, amid this crisis in totality.

Last few words:
Lukman Nurudeen Adeniyi's poem, "Hope, Unity, Love, and Peace in the Age of the Pandemic," is a beautiful ode to the human spirit in the face of adversity. The poem begins by acknowledging the difficult and uncertain times we are living in, but urges us to maintain hope for a brighter future. The use of the word "mystified hell" paints a vivid picture of the chaos and confusion that has engulfed the world in the wake of the pandemic. However, the poet reminds us that in times of crisis, we must come together in solidarity and support one another. The idea of standing with the noblest and deadliest peacemakers is a powerful one, emphasizing the importance of valuing and respecting all members of society, regardless of their role or status. The poem's message of love for humanity is a poignant reminder that even in the darkest of times, we must not lose sight of our shared humanity. The final stanza of the poem ties everything together, highlighting the crucial role that hope, unity, love, and peace play in bringing us through this crisis. The poet makes it clear that only by embracing these values can we hope to find peace and emerge from this crisis stronger and more united than ever before.

The poem "Hope, Unity, Love, and Peace in the Age of the Pandemic" by Lukman Nurudeen tackles the bleak reality of the current pandemic and urges readers to hold onto hope, unity, and love as a means of finding peace amidst the chaos. The poem's strength lies in its message, as it calls on people to come together and support one another in these trying times.

However, the poem's execution falls short in its lack of poetic devices and its simplistic language. The poem reads more like a statement or a call to action rather than a work of poetry. The language is straightforward, lacking in metaphor or imagery that could enhance the poem's emotional impact.

One suggested line edit is to add more descriptive and imaginative language to the following line: "In solidarity, we have to stand." For example, "In solidarity, we must stand shoulder-to-shoulder, a wall of unwavering strength." This edit would add more depth and texture to the poem, making it more engaging and memorable.

Overall, "Hope, Unity, Love, and Peace in the Age of the Pandemic" is a well-intentioned poem with a powerful message, but it could benefit from more poetic artistry to elevate it to a truly impactful work.
