Hidden Within the Old Me

I’ve put it away
All the pain I’ve suffered in my life
That’s lead me to this day

All the disappointment
The hard ship

I've done it
I have put it all in this beautiful antique set of drawers
That sits so pretty
Even though I know what's inside

I no longer wish to open them
I no longer wish to feed these bad memories

Let it all go hungry
I have no interest in helping them to stay alive

I won't open these drawers
But maybe when I do, a long time from now

A beautiful butterfly will find her way out
Flying Into the sunshine, in search of her Rose

And I will be free.

I understand where this comes from. Sometimes, it is not so easy as locking those things away. They resist and find their way out before we are ready to crush their dusty corpses. I do hope that you have some success in starving those vicious little critters to death. I keep pushing mine back in the dungeon and slamming the door; but it seems that everytime I think that it has been long enough, that they should be dried up and ready to swept away, they spring back to life, albeit a little weaker each time. Hopefully, one day, they will turn to beautiful creatures with gossomer wings and become a triumph, rather than a burden. Thank you for sharing this delightful wish. I particulary enjoyed the anology of the beautiful drawers with the bad things locked inside. Yes, it does seem liberating to know where they are. Nice job, ~ Geez.

Our Chatroom is open 24/7 Feel free to use it for
keeping in touch We have poets around the world and it is fun
to have real-time conversations with those that are up
all night or on the other side of the world.

Thank you like I say you always find the point to my poems, by the way this is the finishing part to yesterday's poem. Those plates are all broken now.I don't wish to show my real side so much. You managed to see that the set of drawers are very important and that on the outside they are beautiful. It's true that of course we cannot get rid of all ugly memories inside us however being positive always helps somewhat.

As always you make my work worth something. I shall put this muse to sleep now I think I have written enough.

Thank you...Teddy
