GLITTERING HEDGEHOGS

"GLITTERING HEDGEHOGS"
Margaret Ann Waddicor 19th January 2011.

Glittering hedgehogs, iced burrs,
forest sunglasses, tall firs,
grave decorations, frozen leaves,
broken stalks crossed, dead,
swords of silver, clear scabbards,
Burning Bushes, red lit fires,
feathered twigs, winter dressed birches,
Distant view, hills afloat,
misted waters, satin, silk,
needled twigs, Gram(Excaliber) crystals,
snowballs balanced, nests revealed,
gurgling streams, snow concealed.

Alfred Lord Tennyson in the "Morte d'Arthur"

There drew he forth the brand Excaliber,
And o’er him, drawing it, the winter moon,
Brightening the skirts of a long cloud, ran forth
And sparkled keen with frost against the hilt:
For all the haft twinkled with diamond sparks,
Myriads of topaz-lights, and jacinth-work
Of subtlest jewellery.

And here the description fitted my walk today,
glittering frost, with low sunshine lighting it up
with silver fire, so beautiful.

Its rally like the notes I write each day when out walking on the hill, always something new. Love to all snow lovers! Ann in the white bed of crystals.

Glittering hedgehogs, iced burrs,...(they looked like curled up pinsvin!)
forest sunglasses, tall firs,...(don't need sunglasses when the low sun shades my eyes)
grave decorations, frozen leaves,...(they look so like such)
broken stalks crossed, dead,...(there was one that had done just that)
swords of silver, clear scabbards,
Burning Bushes, red lit fires,
feathered twigs, winter dressed birches,
Distant view, hills afloat,...(so magic when the mist makes them have no base)
misted waters, satin, silk,
needled twigs, Gram(Excaliber) crystals,...(Odin's and King Arthur of England's sword)
snowballs balanced, nests revealed,...(looked as though they were waiting to throw it on someone)
gurgling streams, snow concealed.

That was the idea, something innocent and real.
Seen and enjoyed to touch the thoughts like a tiny
glint of sunlight among the sad poems I see here.
So happy it gave you peace, good. Love Ann.
