It doesn't really make the world go 'round
but, it may be what the world needs, now;
I'm not completely convinced it's either patient, or kind
but, it's heartaches are too much to allow.

It can assist one in finding their soul mate
that is, if indeed we all each have a soul;
it's questionable if it'll keep us all together
but, if it existed not, it would sure take it's toll.

There's a version I've heard of...that's unconditional
and, in the Spring....it can be felt out in the air;
I believe politicians may feel it for babies
otherwise, I'm convinced they don't care.

I've heard it referred to as, a battlefield
and it's true you may hurt whom you're thinking of,
we're all supposed to have it for one another
without it, there'd be no grace from up above.

You must either accept it, or simply leave it
and, I adore it when it gets to this part,
in tennis, and life...you may actually score with it
but, all that really matters is, it's place in your heart.
