Fireworks

Stereotyped fire games;

Some set afire,
some sit at the fire,
barbeque's on,

in Gaza.

What did you think of my title?
How was my language use?
Is the internal logic consistent?

What can we say sitting here listening to music in a free country where the thought of war and fighting comes each day into our lives.
I ask WHY?
It could have stopped within hours, I can only say of the things I have seen here.
I am not in favour of the Israelis power in that area and the history of its way of doing things.
But there must be two sides to this problem, I am sure the children in the playground didn't ask to be shelled or the 1000 odd people that have died they didn't ask to be killed, yet Hamas asked of the people of Israel to do these things, even tonight there are missiles being launched at Israel from Gaza, even at the city of Jerusalem.
Could you imagine what the effect would be if they hit the Golden Dome one of Islam's most sacred places in Jerusalem.
My Uncle still lays there in Jerusalem maybe he will hear the noise of shells again after 100 years, though he will know that they cannot kill him again.
We have learned nothing, the money spent on arms in Gaza could have made Gaza a beautiful place to live for all that are there.
I am sorry I hate this stupid rage that just destroys,
Yours as always Ian.T

and many thanks for coming to this furious thought as I would call it, rathar than a poem.
It is a pity to have all those innocents killed, BUT, when there is a kind of subjection somewhere, sometime, there should be a way to defend one's properties.

I can't pretend to be a politician, but any man with good sight can see how is oppression taking place in that part of my world.

Again, lot's of appreciation to your visit.

Short and sweet . We all feel the hatred around this world. So many under siege. Nice furious thought as you say. So much happening here reading a little of your trials there take my mine but for a moment from daily injustices here in the good old "U S of A". Not so great here either.

Many feel the oppression everywhere. It is something humane to feel with others, I believe.
We appreciate everyone's thought with the palestinians under seige.
Thanks for the visit dear Barbara.

Mommy, Mommy, why can't I have food like other children???
My lovely child, we suffer so that others need not suffer.
Mommy when will we stop feeding everyone besides our selves?
When the world is at peace my child.
Mommy it is not our choice to be poor.
We are a world power so my friends say.
One of the richest countries in the world.
Yet why can't I have food enough to be well.
I saw them dropping food and water to many people today.
Can they drop some in my garden what's left of it.
My child all I can do is cry
And hope that the food bank doesn't send all their food.
Sleep my child there's another day tomorrow.
I will see if I can beg some food somewhere.......

A sadness that will not go, Yours Sparrow

I really loved the conversation that you've just composed. If it reflects anything it reflects how injustice and unfairness spread widely even in the most powerful places around our world.

when I first read it, 3 weeks ago, I couldn't comment, and bookmarked it.
This is sublime meaningfulness in minima, the essence of poetry.

Although it evokes pain and tragedy your use of language reminds me of trekking across the sand dunes as a young surfer and seeing a waving breaking so perfectly I could only gasp "not a drop of water out of place".

especially with regards to creating martyrs, stink a little bit of the unacceptable form of Muslim extremism.
Injustice does not necessarily create martyrs, it should provoke political activism. Although I do accept, grudgingly, the necessity of acts commonly referred to as terrorism, especially when a group of oppressed people can get no other access to main stream Western media. Best for these acts to focus on military and economic targets rather than those that kill children and others that, I won't use the word innocent, very few of the people killed in the Twin towers were innocent, they were soldiers for American unregulated growth, imperialism and exploitation). Without the PLO Palestine would have perished quietly and without comment years ago

which part? all I mean is for the people to rise and fight back against the oppressors. fight for their own rights, to defend their country, homes, family and their dignity. put it this way, will you do nothing if someone hurt your family? No. see, that's what I mean. you fight for them. That's what I mean. As for the word martyr, let me explain in the muslim point of view. Anyone who fight to defend the religion,to protect their country, their home to save their family from harm and poverty and died as men and women of faith are considered martyrs and will be welcomed in heaven. I said protect, not attack. defend, not oppress, save, not slaughter. The ones you called muslim extremists/terrorists are not the same. they attack innocent people, unarmed civillians and destroy houses. they use the word "jihad" so recklessly. see my poem "Don't Let Them Win". I'm talking about them. I won't accept their claim to be muslims or whatever men of faith. I condemn their acts. Now PLO are not extremist. They are fighting for their country and their people. I hope my explanation have shed some light on this misconception.

I do think the world needs to see a bit more outspoken from Muslims opposed to acts of terror though.

condensed
but meaningful
like a haiku

have you ever realised
why guys play chess?

the manliness in one
excels as ego tells
he yells wow! i won

This rings true, like a arrow to the point,
flames of fury watched by passive bystanders,
those involved and those not involved.
Well done Rula, Love Ann

Good to read your works again! Your poem vividly exposes the sad inconsistencies of the human race - it is impossible not to be moved by it's powerful truth! :(
