In the End

the dance has begun

silence

I sit in the shadows
 as gently I expel
  the shards of glass
from my heart

an angel fell
 and the unfeeling
  began, cut free
I am loosed

gutted, left for dead
 I flounder and grasp
  in grief, I am lost
in your purgatory

you've dressed me
 in your rags and gone
  I've stumbled and
fallen from nirvana

I look to the sky
 for a message of hope
  a sign of repentance
but the sky is black

I shall grieve forever
until the sun is no more
  until time stops turning
till you come back to me

quietly

the dance has ended

a "God", gods, or enity that cares about us at all; that is interested in our well-being, I cannot believe that they would not want us to have a happy life. As an Agnostic, I am more apt to believe that we are on our own.
We will know grief and sorrow, but... We will also have joy and peace.
Nothing can take away the pain of loss, you have to put it away! Take joy in what we have today, for tomorrow, our capacity to enjoy it, will be less than now. To stop grieving, is not to forget.

I like this just the way it is. I wouldn't change a thing.
It has power, but it is not overwhelming; no matter the subject or the
emotion projected, it followed a smooth rhythm and pace. Great job!
