Driving in silence to Beaver Marsh ~ part one

Thinking
of the wonder
of perfection
a lush green breeze on a bright
summer-like day...

You and I don't need to punctuate
the silence with words that can not
add anything to this art of being alive
to be
and to know what already is

you reach over and touch my hand, hold it
in your wordlessness;
later that evening, I say "you know while
we were driving", but get distracted with something
or another
you say "yes, and we were driving, yes"
I tell you and you say "I had been thinking just that,
that's why I took your hand in mine
that very moment".

We've been here hundreds of times before, we'll be
here again. Love needs not to be spoken, it just is.

Last few words:
Just saying hi to all. Hi p. Old love, new love, first love. All wearing the disguises of *you*. ~A

The Riderless Horse ~ Memorial Day May 28, 2012

Someday
before the marching songs
fade forever from memory,
the armies of the world will unite
behind the pale riderless horse,
there will no longer be false flags,
there will be peace in all the hills
and valleys, the last volley ringing
in the air, the last hero buried.

"a lush green breeze on a bright
summer-like day..." Not strong.
a lush green breeze
has much to say.

You and I don't need to punctuate
the silence with words that can not

to be
and to know what already is
Good!

The next two stanzas also excellent.
The last stanza is just a love poem.

I loo forward to your edgy and profound work. What do you need?

cheers,
Jess

Oh, you think my poetry is less than you want?

You haven't been paying attention, Jess, I write what comes through me, sometimes it's just a good, old fashioned love poem. And it's quite enough, don't you think?

How did you like the other poem about Memorial Day, or didn't you notice?

I still belong to other poetry groups, it's not like I've stopped writing poems and sharing them, Jess, it's just time to move on, though Neopoet will always have a place in my heart. Did you read what I wrote in "Last Few Words"?

I haven't been paying attention. My feedback has been woefully seldom and when I do I find myself missing the mark and saying strangely inappropriate things. My concentration and insight have been way off.

It's to do with still going through those big changes I told you about in PM.

Things are getting better though and I will soon be back to my sharkish self,
blessings to you,
goddess of love, engorged parts and slithery bits [grins]

cheers,

To make amends I am doing a bit of a retrospective of your recent works. A full retrospective could well form the basis for my PhD thesis, but I'm not up for that yet.

I haven't seen a poem about Memorial day yet, what is it called?

cheers,
Jess

I guess I'm a sucker for a poem with beaver ponds or marshes in the title. Now this warn't too bad fer a free verse lol. Of course the last part reads as a love poem. That's the point............stan

Barry and I are like little kids, always looking for the next adventure. Enjoying nature. *Beaver Marsh* was a total disaster, then nature took its course and you wouldn't believe its beauty, Stan. One thing Ohio has is acres upon pristine/reclaimed natural acres, miles and miles of bike & hiking trails. Until money gets in the way and the powers that be want to use Federal and State recreation parks for oil, gas, coal.

What will we leave for our children's children's children?

In younger day and before he passed away my brother and I used to fish some huge beaver ponds. Over a 6-7 year poriod we never saw anyone else there. The wild pristine beauty with the surrounding wood, dead flooded timber and accompanying wildlife was reason onough to go. But the fishing was also incredible. I'm glad ya'll have had a chance to also see such habitat.............stan
