THE DEVIL HAS THE BEST TUNES

When I know I’m down and out,
When I feel sad and need to cry;
When the pains are intolerable,
Everything begins to go awry.

When I think about my lack of fortunes,
I realise the devil has the best tunes.

When darkness comes upon me,
While my bitter pains never let go;
When I think of her and why she left,
My heart is filled with informal woe.

When I miss touching her under many moons
I think of the devil who has the best tunes.

When my mother got ill and died,
When my father died unexpectedly;
When my sister was taken away by cancer,
Looking back I cry re-assuredly.

When the bursting came to my balloons,
I wish the devil who has the best tunes.

Come and help me from this terrible life,
You who have the power to cure all;
My soul is yours to hold and keep,
I do not want to wait for the next fall.

The devil has the best tunes
I shall dance amongst abyss fumes.

And the devil (no such chap!) had and always will have the best tunes since the god (no such chap!) always had the dreary ones.
